According to its inscription, Dizdariye Mosque, located on Binbirdirek Dizdariye Çeşme Street, was built by Mehmet Said bin İbrahim Efendi in 1505 with the materials remained from Beyazıt Mosque’s construction. The construction of the mosque was completed in a relatively short time, 5.5 months.
This single vaulted and single minareted mosque measures 8.75 x 8.80 m in to in and it was built out of rough face stones. In addition to 10 windows below and 6 above, there are three more windows on the dome pulley.
Its single dome rests over the 12-edged rim. The spandrels of dome are in trompe and their lassels are in baroque style. Minbar is made of wood and it’s respectively new and painted. The balcony of its single minaret is nice with stalactites and can be accessed from inside.
The name of the benefactor is mentioned on a plate in the garden (Hadika) as Janissary Master Mehmet Said b. İbrahim. It was renovated in 1898 by the orders of Sultan Abdülhamid II.
